Reviewing Your Images

Once Sole Sisters has completed your imaging series, the images are sent to be reviewed by Board Certified Thermography interpreters.

A board certified thermologist will carefully analyze your images. Among other factors, they will be looking at temperature differences, vascular asymmetries, and thermal patterns/abnormalities consistent with cancer or other physiological activities. After a thermologist reviews your images a written report will be sent to you 7-10 days after your appointment. We are also happy to send a copy of your report to any practitioner that you request.

What is Thermal Risk Assessment?

At Sole Sisters our breast series imaging includes

thermal risk assessment to aid you in better breast health. Thermal risk assessment addresses each breast’s cancer risk. This includes a thermbiological risk rating score and a look at Hormonal Grade. These assessments can help you monitor your level of risk over time. If you are uncomfortable with your level of risk… or if you see it increasing over time…it may prompt you to take action. Once you have employed measures towards better breast health, re-imaging and looking at your current risk rating scores can help indicate if these measures have been successful.

THERMOBIOLOGICAL RISK RATING

The internationally standardized grading system used in the report is called the Marseille System of Classification, developed by the Pasteur Institute in Marseilles, France. This scale provides strict criteria for rating breast thermography images; giving each breast a number on a scale of TH-1 to TH-5. Low numbers mean lower risk, higher numbers mean higher risk.

HORMONAL GRADES

Since prolonged exposure to excess estrogen is a significant factor for breast cancer, many women are seeking a way of monitoring the estrogen in their breasts. Greyscale thermal images of the vascular dilation of the breasts are used by the thermologists to provide a Hormonal Grade of each breast. If a woman has a higher than expected Hormonal Grade, she can work with a qualified health provider to determine if excess estrogen stimulation is suspected. Many effective natural and nutritional methods are available today to reduce estrogen stimulation.
