Thermal imaging (thermography) reads the infrared heat radiating from the surface of the body and generates highly detailed digital pictures.
Thermography is a pertinent tool for any woman who desires a painless, radiation-free procedure to monitor her risk of breast cancer now and in the future.
We also provide imaging and interpretation that can be helpful with non-breast related issues in both men and women, on all parts of the body.
The science, study, and interpretation of skin temperature patterns is known as Thermology. The process of mapping those patterns is called Medical Thermography. The difference between a regular camera and an infrared camera is that a regular camera captures energy in the visible light portion of the energy spectrum. So, a regular camera sees what you see. The thermal camera is a heat sensor that captures energy in the Infrared, or heat portion of the energy spectrum, which you can’t see. These thermal imaging cameras are used to capture and record temperature variations on the skin, the largest organ of the body. As such, the surface of the skin provides vital information that is directly influenced by complex metabolic and vascular activity, including micro-circulation, below the surface via the sympathetic nervous system.
"The skin is like the body’s central processing unit; it’s a communication hub that functions as an interactive, bi-directional network of interconnections, sharing information between all systems, including the neurological, immune and endocrine functions and pathways. The skin has the information; thermography functions as the monitor, measuring and evaluating the metabolic signals and telling the story as it happens."

Breast cancer is scary business. Adding thermal imaging to standard screening can provide peace of mind. Not only can thermal imaging help in the detection process but it can identify signs of inflammation and blood vessel activity that can represent risk for developing cancer in the future. Such monitoring affords detection of even subtle thermal changes that, although not independently diagnostic, may precede anatomical findings by years and prompt early investigation and prevention. With this knowledge, actions can be taken to lower risk while using thermal imaging as feedback to help assess effectiveness. The feeling of helplessness is replaced with the feeling of empowerment.

We believe that thermal imaging is a beneficial tool for men and women alike. Our service provides imaging on all areas of the body. Thermography is not only used in detecting early signs of disease, cancer, and other illnesses. It can be a vital tool in monitoring the treatment process for an existing condition. Infrared imaging can show changes in both worsening and improvement of current treatments by imaging changes in the heat patterns of the skin over time. It is also useful in detection of the following:
